About
Monica Maxfield’s creative instincts started early and never really went away.
As a child, she spent countless hours drawing characters and imagining stories that revolved around animals, humor, and slightly ridiculous situations. Those drawings eventually became a natural outlet for storytelling.
Her childhood involved frequent moves and a long list of schools. Instead of letting that become discouraging, she discovered that art made it easier to connect with people. Drawing pictures for classmates and friends quickly became something she was known for.
Animals also played a major role in shaping her imagination. Growing up around many different animals meant constantly observing their personalities and behaviors. It did not take long before she began imagining what those animals might say if they could talk.
That curiosity later turned into creative storytelling.
Over the years, Monica explored many different careers and experiences. She worked as a teacher, served customers in hospitality roles, helped patients in healthcare environments, and also completed freelance creative projects.
Despite those different paths, creativity remained a constant thread running through everything she did.
Eventually, the humor, imagination, and love for animals all came together in the form of Commander Cow and Friends, a series that blends cartoon-style storytelling with playful adventure.
For Monica, the goal is simple.
Tell stories that make people laugh.
